state street

exploring my new town

 with some friends (family)...

it's beginning to *feel* a lot like Christmas, thanks to
some family time... shopping... kids&toys... lights... coffee&peppermint schnapps

practice makes perfect

i'm trying to learn new things with my camera...  many people have different tips and tricks, but i've been using this ---> kevinandamanda because they speak my kind of lingo (photography 101)...

but that's ^ all i got. (if you are wondering, those are supposed to be hearts)

after getting super frustrated, i settled for this one:

My sister was in the mood to bake some Pumpkin Bread, so I decided to document the process. We do not take credit for the recipe. We simply "Googled" it, would you expect any more from me?
I didn't think so...

He is just waiting for the moment when he can try some....

Taa Daaahhh!!!

I think that I might fly away, in my hot air balloon,

And hide from worldly worries on the dark side of the moon;
There’s but one thing I need before I float into the blue:
I need a sky companion and I want it to be you.

We’ll fly beyond the storm clouds and we’ll watch from up above,
I’ll cover you in rainbows as we feel each others’ love;
You’ll shower in the stars at midnight in our special place,
I’ll dry you with a comet’s tail and kiss your beaming face.

Dreamy drifting panorama, changing every day,
Every night your loving smile will be my milky way,
The moon will wane before us, sailing there in heaven’s height,
For nothing else can challenge our love’s everlasting light.

Venus shining on us, glowing soft at our devotion,
Our daily drifting dalliance in love’s celestial ocean,
I’ll write you lovers’ poetry, and you will be my muse,
Orion and Andromeda will oversee our cruise.

We’ll sleep with clouds as pillows, maybe steal an angel’s wings,
Then fly as magic lovebirds, or slide round Saturn’s rings,
And should we tire of drifting and the stars all floating by,
We’ll hook onto a meteor and soar across the sky.

Will you consent to be my mate on our celestial ship?
I’m ready, heart all packed with love, to last us for the trip,
Take my hand and step aboard, we’re heading for the sun,
We’re flying till we find the place where our two souls are one.

I think I'd like to dedicate this blog post to "my lobster." Usually it's all pictures here, with a bit of dialogue, and I don't get too gushy when it comes to life stuff. But, the thought of him never leaves my mind.
Long distance relationships can be very straining, and exhausting, and frustrating. But I couldn't imagine going through the past 2 years by myself, let alone with someone else.
Sometimes, I just want to hop on to a hot air balloon with him, and "fly beyond the storm clouds."
He is the best, and most caring, and funniest.... and he's the boy with the wicked blue eyes found here

and the home of the brave

I had such a fabulous weekend with my family... I failed to recognize 9/11's 10 year anniversary.

....I wandered across the street during my lunch hour today into Forest Park. Art Hill had 3,000 American Flags representing those who have passed.

Such an amazing exhibit.

I'm a bit sad about summer ending.
The sun sets a bit sooner, no more pool days to enjoy, with the smells of sunscreen, no more flip flops, no more patio drinks, no more sun kissed skin, and flowers will begin to wilt, but until then...

Now, on the other hand, I am super excited about the Fall season. (A personal favorite.)
Hoodies, fiery leaves, football and friday night lights, chili, Thanksgiving, school is back in session
<to some school is a downer, for me, it's a sense of energy. Note: This feeling is subject to change>

I haven't had my camera too long, and I am still getting the swing of things. My good ol' Rebel hasn't seen Fall in St. Louis, and I'm certainly looking forward to learning more about this gadget throughout the season...
Stay tuned.
